These specifications cover cast-iron and steel, flanged-end, rubber seat, tight-closure butterfly valves, 3-72 in. in size, for maximum shutoff pressures and line velocities, together with torque requirements for operation. The valves specified are suitable for frequent operation, operation after long periods of idleness, and operation in a throttled position in water lines.
Description
Extensive revisions in C504 were approved on Nov. 7, 1955. Every section but the last two are affected, and all sections following Sec. 2 have been renumbered, owing to the insertion of a new Sec. 3. With regard to the tables, only Tables 6 and 8 contain revisions. The designation of the specifications has been changed from C504-54T to C504-55T. These revisions have been incorporated into the text of the Fourth Printing, dated February 1956, and later printings. This printing contains all the revisions and changes referred to above.
