This standard covers self-tapping saddle tees, hereafter referred to as self-tapping saddle(s), molded from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material. The self-tapping saddles are for use with PVC water pipe described in ANSI/AWWA C900, having cast iron outside diameters (CIOD) and are for self-tapping saddles designed for iron pipe size (IPS-OD) PVC water pipes in nominal sizes 1 1/4 in. through 8 in. (32 mm through 200 mm).
