Description

The recent federal government shutdown has slowed progress on Safe Drinking Water Act regulatory development. This webinar will provide an update on current initiatives and their status. It will also cover compliance strategies for the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements, including corrosion control requirements, and outline steps water systems can take to prepare for the forthcoming Microbial/Disinfection Byproduct rulemaking.

Complying with the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements corrosion control requirements and meeting the anticipated Microbial / Disinfection Byproduct rulemaking requirements for a numeric secondary disinfectant residual warrants near-term action to assess compliance challenges and begin taking steps to overcome barriers to compliance. For some systems, the rules will pose interrelated technical considerations. Similar implications warrant the attention of systems making changes in the water supply source or installing treatment to comply with the per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances drinking water standards.
