How to Develop a Small System Risk and Resilience Assessment
Online - for Small Systems only
EL274 is for small systems only.
Objectives
- Provides a succinct assessment of a small system’s critical assets.
- Provides the “how” to conduct a Risk and Resilience Assessment (RRA) with three different options.
- Reviews the RCAP/AWWA Small Systems Risk and Resilience Assessment worksheet.
- Provides a baseline for small systems to discuss and prioritize risks and system improvements.
- Is not to replace a more robust approach for medium and large community water systems, such as a full J100 standard analysis.
Description
This is the third course in the Small Systems Resiliency Certificate Program. This course helps guide small systems through a Risk and Resilience Assessment with the RCAP/AWWA Small Systems Worksheet that is based on EPA Guidance.
The course handout helps guide water utility staff through the thinking process of identifying and assessing risk. The worksheet can also be used to summarize information needed in the EPA Vulnerability Self Assessment Tool (VSAT) if a water system would like to take a more robust approach to their RRA.
