This standard covers the inspection of steel water storage tanks, standpipes, reservoirs, and elevated tanks prior to repair or repainting and at any time when leakage or any other type of deterioration occurs.
Description
Water tanks should be thoroughly inspected every five years. Section A contains information on the inspection process while Section B contains information on the repair process. Included in Section A is information on: inspection service, responsibility, draining of the tank, the work to be included, condition of the paint, pitting, types of repairs, detailed report to the inspector, disposition of the report, payment, and cleanliness. Section B includes information on: the work to be done, inspection record, work to be itemized, lump sum bids, extra work, water tightness, responsibility, inspection and cleanliness.
