SKU: STC_0006875-PDF
The standard was made January 1978. A brief history of the standard is provided along with a discussion of the purpose and application of the standard, and information supplied by purchaser.
Description
This standard covers 1/2 in. through 3 in., dimension, ratio, polyethylene pressure pipe, tubing, and fusion fittings made from PE 1404, PE 2305, PE 2306, PE 3306 and PE 3406 materials that are further defined by specific type, grade, and class designations and by their hydrostatic design basis ratio (Table 1); pipe and tubing conforming to outside diameter-base dimensions (Tables 4, 5, 6) and also pipe conforming to inside diameter base dimensions (Table 2, 3). This standard does not cover pipe or tubing with a wall thickness less than 0.062 in. or a pressure class less than 80 psi. Design requirements and criteria are provided in the appendix. This standard may be used to the extent applicable for PE pipe of different wall thicknesses, such as schedules 40 and 80. Included are sections on the following: definitions, references, affidavit of compliance; pipe, tubing and fusion fittings including basic materials, pipe and tubing requirements, fusion fitting requirements, marking requirements, shipping and delivery, and pressure class of pipe and tubing, inspection and testing by manufacturer such as tests for qualifications of compounds and manufacturing processes, tests for product quality control, action after test specimen failure, and quality control records; plant inspection by purchaser, production notice, manufacturer's responsibility, inspection limitations, plant access, and inspection aids.
