The purpose of this standard is to provide a detailed description of the minimum services together with minimum qualifications and training of the field observation company and its employees during the evaluation of infrastructure related to the treatment, storage, and distribution of both potable water and wastewater.
Description
This standard describes the evaluation of structures involved in the treatment, storage, and distribution of water. The evaluation could be performed while the structure is being fabricated and erected or within the warranty period after work is performed. This standard also addresses the minimum qualification level of an evaluation company and its personnel.
This standard can be referenced in requests for proposals and quotations for the inspection and evaluation of water and wastewater-related structures. The requirements of this standard apply when this document has been referenced, and then only as they relate to the structures included in this document. It is recognized that this standard and other referenced standards within this document contain inspection criteria that are qualitative and not quantitative and therefore subject to the interpretation of the individuals involved. In those instances, expectations shall be established and agreed upon ahead of construction activities to reduce the likelihood of confusion or disagreement.
