AWWA C750-10 Transit-Time Flowmeters in Full Closed Conduits (PDF)

SKU: STC_0071797-PDF
This standard describes transit-time ultrasonic flowmeters for water supply service application in pipes running full. An ultrasonic flowmeter is a meter that uses acoustic energy signals to measure liquid velocity. There are currently two distinct types of ultrasonic flowmeters available: Doppler-effect and transit-time. The Doppler-effect meter is used exclusively for liquids containing solid particles or gases, and the transit-time flowmeter is used in a wide variety of applications in the water industry.

Description

Major revisions made to the standard in this edition include the following: a new Sec. 4.1, Materials, has been added; Sec. 4.5 and Sec. 4.6 have been modified to include provisions for wetted-type transit-time flowmeters; Sec. 4.6.1 has been modified to include information on multipath designs; and, Section 5, Verification, has been greatly expanded to include various calibration and field verification methods. These include electronic calibration, dry calibration, volumetric method, gravimetric method, master meter method, and other methods.
