These tentative standard specifications cover field welding by the metal arc-welding process of steel water pipe manufactured in accordance with AWWA Specifications 7A.3, Electric Fusion Welded Steel Water Pipe of Sizes 30 Inches and Over, and AWWA Specifications 7A.4, Steel Water Pipe of Sizes Up to But Not Including 30 Inches.
Description
Such field welding covers welding of circumferential joints of pipe and other welding required in field fabrication and installation of specials and appurtenances. The maximum wall thickness of pipe to be welded under these specifications shall be 1-1/4 inch.
